Point at a panel in the script or on the page to see which lines made it.
What you write decides what you see
Every line is its own balloon
Write the dialogue and the balloon appears in the panel, its tail pointing at whoever speaks. Move the line to another panel and the balloon goes with it, along with everything you had adjusted.
Script order is reading order
Reorder the script and the comic is reordered. There is no separate layout to keep in sync.
It warns you when the page contradicts itself
A balloon read too early, another covering a head, someone speaking who isn’t in the panel, so much text the art can’t breathe. Every warning says what is wrong and how to fix it.
The page rules the panel
Panels sit in the slots of a grid. Change the paper size and the layout rearranges itself without touching a single panel. There’s bleed, layers, borderless panels and diagonal cuts.
Comics, manga and webtoons
US comic book, manga B5, A4, landscape and vertical strip. Manga reads right to left: that changes the order of the panels and of the balloons, and the warnings take it into account.
Characters without drawing them
Characters are tokens with a name and a height. With them you place who is in the panel, where, and how far away, without drawing a line. When your artist sends the page back, each panel carries its art as a background and the balloons stay on top.
Your work stays on your computer
No account needed. Your work saves itself in the browser. In Chrome and Edge you can also work in a folder on your disk: the script, the layout and the art for each panel live in files you can copy, version, or open with other tools.
Each page exports as SVG or PNG to send to your artist, and the script as text. If you already have a script in a text file, import it and Mekunari turns it into pages and panels.
